Avoiding Jet Lag the Easy Way
Nowadays, most people prefer to fly because of its efficiency and convenience. Instead of days on a boat or your car, you will only need a couple of hours to get to your destination. Unfortunately, there is one disadvantage hat you will have to deal with it when you fly to far destinations – jet lag.
The term jet lag is usually referred to the uneasiness you feel after traveling to another destination, which has a different time zone from your origin. Because our body has its own biological clock, it will get a bit confused because of jet lag, leaving you sleepy during the day and awake at night.
In order to minimize the effects of jetlag, you should consider these following tips:
- If you will be staying for a period longer than three days, it will be wise to adjust your schedule to suit the destination’s time before the scheduled trip. For instance, you can immediately adjust your watch and try to sleep and wake up earlier than usual.
- Make sure you avoid beverages that contain beverages before your scheduled departure as they will disrupt your sleeping pattern and keep you awake unnecessarily. If possible, grab some sleep on the plane in order for your body to adapt easier to the time changes.
- Once reaching your destination, make sure that you try to grab some fresh air by going out. You can choose to grab some bite to eat or see some of the attractions near your hotel. After, you can have a quick shower and then some sleep. You will be surprised at how refreshed and well-adjusted you will feel in the morning.
- If you are worried about not being able to sleep because of the time difference, you can always ask your doctor for some sleeping pills.
